Abstract is a very flexible notion in the photography world. I view it as purely non-reference, an image that allows the viewer to define its meaning. While many photographs on this site are abstract and not located in this category, herein lies a collection of images I consider to be abstract.
Concrete Jungles, like plants growing up through cracks in the sidewalk, the city lives and breathes canvases for my eye. Rainy nights and neon lights, protected in a poetic manner using grates and glass in an ironic twist of beauty, and beauty in the midst of babylon is the essence of this gallery.
Mostly abstract approach to nature photography with alternative angles, multiple exposures, and color infrared films. No psychedelic zebras were harmed in the making of these photographs.
The fluid nature of both water and glass merge in this gallery, still under development.
Some juicy photos from Phish, String Cheese Incident, the Grateful Dead, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Animal Liberation Orchestra, Carlos Washington and Giant People, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Oysterhead, the White Stripes, a comedic encounter with Iggy Pop, and more.
Current Works, Contemporary Photography by Jay Archibald
Integration of my current works into static galleries can prove to be difficult. Here I present images that are of the moment and not yet in need of a category, or perhaps even a title. Some are works in progress while others are older shots currently undergoing reconstruction or merely being dusted off and are deemed worthy of your attention. Images presented here are also posted in my rss news blog.
